Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are your hours?
A: We have none… sorry! We’re offering an appointment-only service.
Q: What would happen if I just stop by?
A: Usually we do not take walk-ins. Chances are… some people tend to be late or not to show up. But contact us before you drop by! ‘We were in the area’ still doesn’t mean you can’t call or text.
Q: Can I schedule an appointment?
A: Yes, definitely. Call us and we will help you to setup your appointment. We do our best to accomodate you.
Q: I called you, but you didn’t answer. What should I do?
A: Such a situation can occur when we are too busy, out of the office, or just can’t hear phone ringing because of noisy enviroment etc. We try to be responsive as possible, however, we’re unable to be there for you 24/7. Don’t worry, have patience. We’ll generally get back to missed calls or texts fairly promptly. If you do not hear back from us within 24 hours, something went wrong, so please don’t hesitate to contact us again.
Q: Is it necessary to have a tattoo consultation?
A: Yes. Unless you’re planning on getting a small, simple tattoo or you are a repeat client of Roman Rosa Tattoo. Consultation in-person is free of charge and has a lot of benefits: allows you to easily discuss the details of your tattoo and get comfortable with your artist. If you live in another town or country, consultation can be done through phone and email.
Q: How much will my tattoo cost?
A: Every tattoo is different. Our prices start at 50€ and vary depending on such factors as size, colors, part of the body and the difficulty of the tattoo. Be prepared to spend 100€ for a palm sized tattoo (no portrait or something hyper detailed) and 150-200€ for more complex designs. Large tattoos obviously need multiple sessions to be completed and they are paid for session by session, so you only pay for the work that was performed that day. Multi-session tattoos (such as sleeves) are charged 50€ per hour, or you can choose our special flat rate option of 250€ per session.
Q: Oh, isn’t it way too expensive?
A: No, just you’re likely a cheapskate! There’s an old saying: ‘YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR’, and well, quality of the tattoo is most of the time directly proportional to the money you pay. Some people generally don’t care about quality. They’re going to get a quick and run-of-the-mill tattoo as cheap as possible.
Q: Why different artists take different price for the same piece?
A: Assume you were shopping around for the ‘best price’. Skimping on quality doesn’t take a genius. If you want a cheap tattoo, it’s a way to get a bad one. Roman Rosa Tattoo can ensure you’re getting exactly what you want. Professional service at reasonable price, without breaking the bank. Even though you have an average job, our tattoos can still be within your reach.
Q: I’m a student with a very fixed budget. What now?
A: Don’t worry. Tell us what you’re looking for and how much you are able to spend. We’ll tell you the answer. You may get a NO, however you may also get YES too. If you are not able to afford the tattoo, we recommend that you wait until you can. Other option is to break your tattoo project into several stages, instead of setting up for something less. A tattoo is a lifetime investment, so get the one you had in your mind.
Q: Do you do cover-ups and fixes of a poorly done or old faded tattoos?
A: Absolutely, however, they are considered on a case-by-case basis. Every cover-up tattoo is custom design and can not always be your ‘dream tattoo’, as it must fit to the old piece. Whether a tattoo is too large or too dark, some of them are almost impossible to effectively cover.
Q: Do you do tattoo removal?
A: No, we don’t. We’re making tattoos.
Q: And what about piercings?
A: We currently do not offer piercing at our shop.
Q: Can one who is under 18 get a tattoo? I’m 14 and dying to get one…
A: Way too young! You must be 18, or 15 with a parent present. There are no exceptions.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: We currently accept cash payments and any credit or debit card with a VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover Network or Diners Club International logo.
Q: Should I bring a friend to my tattoo session?
A: Unless you’re planning on getting a really small tattoo, you’re more than likely going to spend here at least a couple of hours. Come alone. If you simply must have companionship, one person may accompany you. One person doesn’t mean a whole squad. It’s annoying. Do you really want your artist to be distracted by inking your skin for life? Bring someone quiet, who can respect shop protocol.
Q: Can I bring my kids with me?
A: Unfortunately not. Children are not allowed to be present in the tattooing area. In very special occasion you may bring your kid, but you’ll need to find a sitter, someone who will keep an eye on it during your appointment.
Q: Do you do permanent makeup?
A: Yes. Lips (lip liner or fuller lips) and eyebrows (powdery filled or individual hairline strokes technique). No eye liner.
Q: Do I tip?
A: Tips are not required on top of the cost of your tattoo. If you’d like to show your gratitude, tip the way you would tip other service industry.
Q: How do I care for my new tattoo?
A: Please check out our Aftercare section.
Q: Does my tattoo need a touch up?
A: There are certain instances when touch up is a necessity, as in the absence of color which was present before the tattoo healed. If so, call us, and come for a touch up.
Q: How much do touch ups cost?
A: We guarantee* our work and we want you to be completely satisfied with your tattoo. If you have taken proper care of it, you’ll get a touch up FOR FREE within six months after your tattoo has been completed.
* Hands, fingers, feet, toes and white ink are not guaranteed due to their tendency for the pigment to fall out. We will charge the amount of 20€ to fix these areas.
